THE KENNELS (Heathrow Boarding Kennels)
Heathrow Boarding Kennels have been established for thirty years.They are situated in a peaceful setting next to several
fishing lakes. The kennels have now earned this particular fishing spot the nickname of 'Barking Bay' amongst local anglers.
Whilst maintaining its rural appeal, the kennels are only minutes from the M4, M25 and London Heathrow Airport.
They currently have an all female team of staff. All of whom have either studied relevant
animal management courses or are qualified simply through their dedication and love of animals.
ENVIRONMENT
The main kennel block has been thoroughly redecorated and now looks very smart. It comprises of thirty kennels, all of which have their
own sheltered external run and a heat lamp.Each kennel has shutters to keep any nasty drafts out when it gets colder. For the warmer
days, they have raised the internal roof to allow better airflow and added large extractor fans. They have added reflective insulation along
the whole roof which has greatly improved the quality of light for our dogs. Each visitor gets clean vet bedding and their own basket that
is raised off the floor. Owners are welcome to supply their own bedding if they feel their dogs would be more comfortable in what they are
used to.
FEEDING
The dogs are fed twice daily unless otherwise specified by their parents and always have clean topped up water bowls. We stock a range of
dog foods both dry and wet but if your dog has more specific taste, you may want to have a chat with us in advance to find out if they have
what your dog likes. If in doubt, you are more than welcome to supply your own food. We are also happy to cater for any medical conditions.
HYGIENE
>The cleaning regime is very thorough. Both the interior and exterior of every kennel is disinfected daily to keep them hygienic and
smelling sweet. In addition to this, staff perform continuous walk around checks to ensure any mess is removed quickly. Bowls are disinfected
after every feed and any wet bedding is immediately removed and replaced.
EXERCISE AND PLAY
In addition to the individual runs attached to the kennels, They also have several larger exercise pens to allow the dogs to really
stretch their legs. They have two concrete areas and a grass area.
